  • This is a great example of companies embracing not just technology but design as a way of both improving functionality but also providing differentiation. The projects designed by Yves Behar and his team at fuseproject continually push new technological boundaries but are human and warm in design, sensitive to the user and appealing.  Driven by an ethos of 'design for good' their projects are inspiring e.g. the $100 XO laptop aimed at providing access to learning to children all around the world or the funky glasses that can be personalised for kids in Mexico to help poorly-sighted children make the most of their education. The combined step change in technology combined with design is a smart move for GE and one that many companies are failing to take advantage of as they develop new cleaner energy fuel sources for both business and home users.
